We were approached by Intrepid Travel to review the UX and visual identity of their current website to ensure customer engagement and usability were at the centre of their digital presence.
Our initial steps were to discuss with Intrepid the main functionality and purpose of the website. From these discussions, it was felt the key challenges of the existing website were the complex navigation, plus confusing information architecture. A key deliverable for the new website would be to develop a much simpler search functionality that could then be applied to their .uk and .de websites. As well as introducing a fresh new look and feel that would ensure Intrepid stood out within the crowded travel marketplace.
We began wireframing and designing the website. The existing website content could be re-purposed, which allowed us to focus our efforts on UX, and in particular on the areas we knew were underperforming. We focussed the design on improving the things that mattered – including a cleaner and more obvious search, a new company overview section plus the development of dedicated pages to support key business areas for Intrepid.
